The Round Protagonist

The protagonist, Semirah, learns about genetic engineering in a way she never thought she'd learn about it. She not only learns more about it, but she also experiences it by being forced to transform into a transgenic creature. As she watches her friend, Miranda, painfully turn into a bird she is frightened and scared about what will happen to them. No one, not even Dr.Franlkin knows how they will look, because it's all based on experimenting and just waiting to see the results. Emotionally, she becomes stronger as a person and comes out of her shell.
