The Science Behind

Dr.Franklin's Island is mostly about transgenics and genetic engineering, which means to insert a gene or genes into one species from another species. Dr.Franklin first experiments with animals by putting human DNA into animlas to see what happens and if his way of making transgenics works. Then, come along Miranda and Semirah and he wants to use them to try to make a transgenic human being. They try to escape from the clutches of Dr.Franklin and avoid turning into freaky transgenic creatures by talking to Dr.Skinner and the orderlies but, it doesn't work. They have no choice, but to do as they're told and become his first human experiments. Dr.Franlkin and Dr.Skinner have no idea how Miranda and Semirah are going to look and if they'll even be able to survive the transformation, but they see it as a sacrifice for science. Miranda and Semirah end up going through the whole transformation in pain and torture and have no idea if they're going to die.
